AGO issued “unqualified audit opinions” on GIC Singapore
Some three days ago the Straits Times carried a article on the Auditor-General’s audit report of government ministries and statutory boards. Both TOC and Wayang Party noted this on their websites. Wayang Party in particular asked why weren’t Temasek’s and GIC’s accounts audited by the AGO.
As a friend pointed out to me, the AGO did in fact audit GIC, though there was no mention of Temasek Holdings. The full report by the AGO may be found here. Under Part III, the section on Audit of Government-Owned Companies and Other Accounts, the following is written:
So the Auditor General’s Office did in fact audit GIC’s financial statements. And they found nothing wrong with the numbers.
