PM Lee’s bizarre understanding of kindness

leave a comment »

Back in 2007, Channel News Asia reported PM Lee Hsien Loong recounted a story of human kindness he personally experienced:

More than 100 examples of such kind behaviour were published in the second edition of a book of kindness stories.

The Prime Minister himself contributed a story as well.

Mr Lee shared how he and his wife were touched by the thoughtfulness of a satay man in Malacca.

They had ordered 40 sticks of satay but the experienced hawker only served them 25 sticks, as he knew that would be enough.

Hat tip to Sammyboy.com forum thread.

That’s shocking.  You mean all along when others have failed to deliver what was promised, they were actually being kind?  If this is his understanding of human kindness I don’t see how Singapore Kindness week will ever be a success.
